Olde Mistick Village will take on the warm and welcome aroma of chowder as the village hosts their 15th Annual Cabin Fever Festival and Charity Cook-Off on Saturday, February 24th, 2018 from 12 noon to 4pm. Awards to be given at 5pm.

All proceeds from this event benefit Always Home (formerly Mystic Area Shelter and Hospitality), a non-profit service agency dedicated to preventing family homelessness throughout Southeastern CT. For the past 20 Years, Always Home has provided case management services and emergency housing assistance to local families at risk of homelessness. Last year, Always Home prevented over 200 families from becoming homeless and helped them sustain housing. According to the Executive Director Jeff Anderson, “It is always in the best interest of the family, particularly young children, to avoid the trauma of emergency shelter. That’s why our mission focuses on preventing homelessness. We work to find families safe, secure housing with the supportive services necessary to achieve long- term housing stability.”

This day will be filled with family fun and community support! Many of the area’s finest restaurants and caterers will serve up their signature chowder from the warmth of sponsoring shops in Olde Mistick Village. A team of celebrity judges at the event will choose the winners in three categories 1) Most Creative Chowder 2) Heartiest Chowder, 3) Best use of Regional ingredients. The public will vote for the winner of the coveted “People’s Choice Award” for the Best Chowder Category. All awards will be presented in the meeting house/chapel, in Olde Mistick Village at 5:00pm.

Chowder Tickets are $1 for each 3oz. cup of Chowder, or you may purchase 12 tickets for just $10. Tickets will be on sale the day of the event throughout the village in various store locations. Tickets do not go on sale until 12:00. All proceeds from the tasting benefit Always Home.
